SHWID 2025 Concludes Successfully: A Global Gathering to Advance Smart Healthcare and Wearable Technologies

KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia – December 5-7, 2025 – The 2025 2nd International Conference on Smart Healthcare and Wearable Intelligent Devices (SHWID 2025) successfully concluded on December 5-7, 2025. Hosted at Sunway University in Kuala Lumpur, the conference brought together over hundreds of researchers, clinicians, engineers, industry leaders, and innovators from around the world to explore the future of technology-driven healthcare.

Highlights of the Conference

Opening Ceremony and Welcome Addresses

The conference opened with a warm welcome from Professor Ir Denny Ng Kok Sum, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Technology at Sunway University, who emphasized Malaysia’s growing role in smart healthcare innovation. He was followed by Associate Professor Ts. Dr. Aslina Baharum, Chair of the Organizing Committee, who highlighted the conference’s mission to bridge research with realworld healthcare solutions.

Award Ceremony

Following the opening remarks, Professor Ir Denny Ng Kok Sum presided over a special award ceremony to honor the keynote speakers and outstanding paper contributors. Certificates were presented to the keynote speakers in recognition of their visionary insights and scholarly contributions. Additionally, several authors were awarded for their exemplary research papers presented at the conference. The ceremony concluded with a group photo, capturing this moment of academic recognition and collaborative spirit.

Parallel Oral Sessions

Attendees participated in two parallel sessions covering a wide range of topics, including: AIdriven emotion recognition and mental health monitoring,Wearable sensors for realtime health tracking,Cybersecurity in digital health systems,Humancomputer interaction and inclusive design,Data fusion and multimodal learning for personalized medicine.Presenters from institutions in Malaysia, China, India, the United States, Spain, and other countries shared their latest findings, sparking lively discussions and potential collaborations.

Beyond the formal sessions, the conference provided ample opportunities for networking during coffee breaks, luncheons, and the closing ceremony. SHWID 2025 was organized by Sunway University, in collaboration with Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM), Xidian University, and the Advanced Diagnostic Therapy Technology and Equipment Key Laboratory of Higher Education Institutions in Shaanxi Province.
